작년부터 진행해 온 #com( )은 #식스스페이스 와 #바림 의 교류 프로젝트입니다. 2017년에 9명의 참여자들은 하노이를 방문해 첫 #com( )을 진행했고, 올해 9월에는 하노이에서 7명의 참여자들을 광주에 초대해 진행합니다. 이 프로젝트는 레지던시나 국제교류의 형식에서 자주 볼 수 있는 결과를 발표하는 형식이 아닌, 교류의 첫 시작 지점을 공유합니다. 각 참여자는 도시와 사회, 예술에 대한 자신의 해석을 여러 형태로 제시하고, 그것을 시작점으로 관계를 넓혀갑니다. 최종 결과 발표물은 없습니다. 대신 주제와 질문을 던지고 주고 받습니다.
#com( ) is an exchange project between #Sixspace and #Barim. In 2017, 9 participants have visited Hanoi for the first #com( ) project, and in this September, Barim invited 7 participants from Hanoi to Gwangju. This project is not a final showcase that you usually see from a residency or international exchange, rather it shares the starting point of the exchange. Each participant suggests own interpretation on city, society, and art in a various format, and that becomes a start to expand the relation. There is no final art piece. Instead we throw topics and questions each other.

작년부터 진행해 온 #com( )은 #식스스페이스 와 #바림 의 교류 프로젝트로, 2018년에는 서로의 관심 주제와 분야가 만나 섞이면서 아이디어가 발생하고 변화되어 가는 전개 과정을 구체적으로 기록합니다. 참여자들은 그 안에서 보여지는 각 도시간의 맥락으로부터 성장시킨 아이디어를 다양한 형태를 통해 드러내고 물음표를 제시합니다.
이 프로젝트의 일환으로, 9월 10일 오후 7시에 진행될 라운드테이블에서는 유사한 배경, 도시의 특성이 만나 그 주제를 통해 촉발 되어지는 물음표를 추적한 과정과 그로부터 파생된 생각을 큐레이터와 참여자들간 “일상대화”라는 형태를 통해 진행됩니다. 주고받는 아이디어를 추적하는 과정에서 예술가의 교류 사이에 어떤 발생 지점이 있었는지, 사람과 장소, 물건과 역사를 “물음표”와‘#’이라는 해쉬태그로 연결해 관찰해보는 시도를 해 볼 수 있을 것입니다.

잿빛을 띄는 광주 투어, 동명동 투어를 만나보세요. 사심지의 상호모순적인 내러티브를 따라 걷는 투어. 사심지는 출판을 매개로 우리의 일상을 비꼬아 다시 봅니다.

Limebocx는 그루브 라이브 일렉트로닉과 전통음악의 해석을 통해 음악의 유산과 모던의 틈새를 연결하려는 그룹입니다. 광주 바림에서 라임박스는 광주의 음악적 경험과 해석을 하노이, 북 베트남과 섞어 음악적인 표현을 찾으려 합니다.

#com( ) is an exchange project between #Sixspace and #Barim. In this 2018 ver., the project records a process of ideas which are born and developed as different interests and genres meet. Participants will present ideas from contexts of each city and suggest question marks in a various format.
As a part of the project, on Sep 10, 7pm, the roundtable will trace few questions from similar background and uniqueness of two cities in a form of “daily conversation.” In the process of tracking, we hope to find points of occurrence in terms of artistic exchange, “questions” and “hashtags” of people, place, thing, and history.

Join us the most grey tour of Gwangju – Dongmyungdong area, a hip town of old town. The contradicting narrative of #Sasimji is fascinating to follow around. #Sasimji is a zine group in Gwangju who sarcastically re-view our daily scenes thr publications.
14th – 7pm #Limebocx (music performance)
Limebocx is a combination of groovy live electronic and interpretative traditional music, yearning for bridging the gap between the heritage and modern elements in music. This time brought to Gwangju by Barim, Limebocx is aiming to present and mingle their Gwangju musical experience/interpretation with that of Hanoi/Northern Vietnam.

Trang Chuối는 하노이 페미니스트 포스트 펑크 밴드 Gỗ Lim로 음악 커리어를 시작해, 음악 뿐 아니라, 시각예술의 분야에서도 활발히 활동중이다. REC ROOM, MXM band 프로젝트를 진행중이고, 광주에서 전통악기와의 접점을 찾는다.
Since Gỗ Lim, the Hanoi’s Feminist Post-punk quintet, she has been actively engaged in not just in music but also in visual art. Currently runs REC ROOM project and writes/plays music for MXM band. In Gwangju, she searches a point of contact with traditional musical instrument.

Tuấn SS 는 베트남 비트박서의 첫 세대에 속하는 뮤지션으로, 비트박스 밴드 Loopernatural의 멤버, 그루브 일렉트로닉 Limebócx의 멤버로 활동중이다. 야마하 페스티벌 등 다수의 페스티벌에서 수상했다. 한국의 전통 음악 비트와, 비트박스를 믹스한다.
Tuan SS is among the very first beatboxers of Vietnam. Tuan SS is also a member of the beatbox band Loopernatural and the groove/electrùnic duo Limebócx. He has won several prizes. In Gwangju, he mixies a beat of traditional music and beatbox.

Trang은 TẾT art, Hyp.ART, Puppets Café 등의 플랫폼에서 활동중이다. 토크, 전시 등을 기획하기도 하며, 사진가로도 활동 중이다. 카메라 렌즈를 통해 보는 광주의 일상과 풍경을 기록하고, 도시의 맥락을 읽어낸다.
Trang has been engaged in activities through different art platforms such as TẾT art, Hyp.ART and Puppets Café. She organizes talks, discussions, and exhibitions, and also a photographer. In Gwangju she captures daily lives and landscapes through a lens of camera, and tries to read the context of the city.

Thảo는 영어, 독일어를 공부한 배경을 가지고, NGO 등의 크리에이티브 프로젝트에 일러스트레이터, 디자이너로서 참여해왔다. 환경, 사회문제에 관심을 가지고, 이를 어떻게 미술, 디자인을 통해 변화시킬 수 있는지를 생각한다. 광주에서는 마케팅, 물질주의, 그에 따른 디자인 이슈를 탐구한다.
Studying in German and English, Thao has engaged in various NGO and creative projects as a designer and illustrator. Being interested in activism for social change in different issues such as environmental awareness, Thao is interested in how art/design can change the world. In Gwangju, she researches marketing, materialism, and design issues.

Thảo는 주로 그림을 그리지만, 다른 미디어에도 관심을 가지고 실험 중이다. 광주에서는 일상의 미의식, 복장에 다른 미의식을 연구하고 그린다.
Thao works mostly with paintings and drawings with some interests in other media. In Gwangju, she researches an aesthetic sense of daily life and clothes.
#Nguyễn Văn Thành
Thành은 그림을 그리고 조각한다. 사회, 문화적인 현상을 회화로 포착하고 기록한다. 광주에서는 얼굴이 없는 사람들의 초상화를 그린다.
Thanh works with paintings and sculptures. His works reflect his concerns about the social and cultural environment around him. In Gwangju, he draws a portrait of faceless people.

인간이 없는 유토피아 이미지에 관심을 가지는 Giang은 인간이 사라졌을 때 생길수 있는 자연의 반응에 대해 리서치하고, 그것이 인간에게 남기는 유산에 대해 생각한다. 어떤 생명의 형태가 남을 것인가.
Intrigued by an Utopia that have none of human, Giang’s practice attempts to research and depict how nature would react to the disappearance of human when it happens, what legacy human would have left behind, and what life form would then take place.
#사심지 (강나검, 박시영) SASIMJI (Nagum Gang, Siyoung Park)
강나검, 박시영 두 편집자와 필자로 이루어진 사심지는 광주의 서브컬쳐와 그 부산물, 그리고 하노이와의 공통점에 대해 이야기한다. 동명동의 변화를 비꼬아 보는 광주 원주민의 시선으로 잿빛투어를 기획했다.
Sasimji, 2 zine editors and writers, talks on subcultures and its by-products in Gwangju with discussing its commonality to Hanoi. With a perspective of original Gwangju natives, they organized a grey tour with sarcasm.

송원재는 공공적 그리고 개인적 목적에 있어서 공원이 가지는 의미와 기원에 대해 생각한다. 결국 그는 공원을 촬영하고 만든다.
Wonjae thinks on the meaning and origin of parks in terms of its public and private purposes. In the end, he films and creates a park.

스케치와 드로잉을 통해, 서영기는 광주와 하노이의 풍경을 기록하고 해석한다. Through sketch and drawing, Younggi records and interpret landscapes of Gwangju and Hanoi.

이루리와 Huong은 광주에 살며 자수를 한다. 유행처럼 번지는 프랑스 자수는 베트남, 한국의 그것과 어떻게 다른가. 자수 말고 다른 이유가 숨어 있지는 않은가.
Ruri and Huong live in Gwangju and work with embroidery. French embroidery is a thing these days. How is it different from Korea and Vietnam? Is there any other reason than just embroidery style?

이론가로 참여한 박태인은 도시, 공간의 교류를 지켜보며, 그들의 차이가 좁혀져 나가는지 멀어져 가는지, 혹은 어디로 가는지를 고민한다.
Taein observes and asks a question whether the exchange between cities or spaces narrows or broadens the gap. Or simply, where is this going?

전작 #com( )을 유산처럼 떠안은 김보경 큐레이터는 한 번 작물을 심은 땅에 다른 작물을 심어보려 한다. 해시태그로 참여자들간의 마인드 맵을 연결한다.
Bogyung tries to plant new crops on earth where originally different crops were planted, the legacy of the previous #com( ). With hashtags, she connects participants through a mind map.
