안녕하세요. 2014년 3월 문을 연 바림은 올해 2월 10년을 맞이하며 공간을 닫았습니다.
10년동안 레지던시, 전시, 공연, 공공 프로그램과 같은 형식을 통해 수많은 예술가와 사람들이 오갔던 “바림”에 이제 안녕을 고할 시간이 다가왔네요. 물리적 공간이었던 바림이었지만, 굿바이는 이렇게 디지털 SNS에서 전하게 되었습니다. 폐관을 앞두고, 예술 공간을 운영한다는 것에 대한 비평과 에세이를 모아보았습니다. 그간 밀접하게 활동했던 동료들이 글을 주셔서 한없이 기쁜 마음입니다.
많은 분들이 읽어주셨으면 하는 마음에 물리적인 책은 물론, 웹으로도 공개합니다. 덜렁덜렁 책을 들고 다니기도 싫고 “나중에 읽어야지” 섹션에 책을 방치하기도 싫은 분들을 위해, 바림 홈페이지에 전문을 공개하니, 원하시는 방편으로 많이들 읽어주세요!

Greetings! Barim opened its doors in March 2014 and closed in February of this year, celebrating its 10th anniversary.
It is finally time to bid farewell to “Barim,” which invited countless artists and people through residencies, exhibitions, performances, and public programs. Barim was a physical space, but I guess we are bidding goodbye on digital social media. In anticipation of its closure, we’ve compiled a collection of critiques and essays related to running an art space, many of them written by colleagues we’ve worked closely with.
The book is available both online and offline to reach many readers. For those of you who don’t want to carry around a book or leave it in the “I’ll read it later” section, we publish the full text on the Barim website, so please read it however you like! The book is also written in English, and you can pick up a copy at the above shops in Gwangju. Otherwise, ask for a parcel or read it on our website.
